Your question is not clear which is why after 4 hours no one has answered it.

You bought a 4 wheeler and then traded it - for what> At the same dealer? Dealer never refunded your money for what exactly?

Usually when you trade something in you bought something else. The value of the trade is considered as payment on the new item - so any residual value, assuming the 4 wheeler was worth more than the item you traded for, would have been paid on the spot. So what exactly is your question?

As far an bankrupcy - if he files for dismissal of debts and the court agrees, then you and all other creditors are screwed. You can file a claim but if his debts are overwhelming the court may indeed dismiss them including yours.
