If AIG were not helped by the bailout and filed bankruptcy would these bonuses still need to be paid?

Contractually paid.
They are using this as their argument that they have to be paid.

Just wondering if they were to be in bankruptcy protection would they still need to be paid.
In essence though the company would be in bankrupt without these bailout monies so shouldn’t they be obligated to follow the same set of rules
